Prof. Dr. Akin began his academic journey at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, where he completed medical education and specialization in Brain and Nerve Surgery. He also went to the University of Florida for his Neuroanatomy Doctorate Program in Brain and Nerve Surgery. He has also achieved accolades from foreign states including (but not limited to) Synthes Neurosurgery Fellow of UF Florida, 5th FSM Hospital Academy Award, India, and SSCD Association for 15 Papers.
